By 1986 the 1980 Black Belt Magazine article entitled “Kumite” became the catalyst for beginning the movie ‘Bloodsport’, with Jean Claude Van Damme portraying Dux, who was trained by Sanzo Tanaka, played by Roy Chiao, who trains Frank Dux to fight in the “The Kumite”, the event that took place once every five years.
